Couponing today

Today, my hubby & I ended up shopping at four stores & on average, over 5 transactions, we saved about 48.8%!
I went this morning & got milk at Schnuck's b/c what kiddo had left had gone bad. :/ So, that $1.97 didn't count against any of the following savings...
Hubby went to Target & got a few things & saved 39.65% ( & got a $3 off next grocery purchaseof $25 or more coupon)
I went to Meijer & refilled my Rx & the person before had left their coupons! So, I got an extra $5 off the next purchase(which I used, not on the Rx, but on the other stuff) & the potential for $20 & $5 off coupons the next time I refill Rxs there! :D
In my main transaction I saved 67.3% because of the $10 off coupon I had from filling that Rx & $5 from someone else filling their Rx & mPerks & clearance stuff.
Then I went to Walgreens & saved 44.2% (& got a $5 off next purchase of $5 or more coupon) ... *happy dance!*

Walgreens shopping trip (not pictured: bottle of vinegar)

Meijer shopping trip. The Elmo doll was a full price splurge. Been wanting to get her one for a while. :)

(Not pictured: milk or Target stuff)

Tomorrow or later next week we do plan to get a few more things once the sales hit. I get a preview of the Walgreens & Meijer sale ads so I know Almay is going to be buy 1 get 1 50% off starting tomorrow & our alternative milks from Silk are actually going to be on sale at Meijer!

Day 20 Update

Cleaning out the medicine drawers (since we don't have a medicine cabinet that we use as such) is under way! I got the one in the kitchen done, but I still need to do the two upstairs.

Here's pretty much everything that was in the drawer. 1.) Light bulbs & stuff... This used to be a junk catch-all drawer. We basically had three in the kitchen, plus 2 for actual kitchen utensils. Those are going downstairs with the other lightbulbs, but I need to find a better home for them. 2.) Cat medicines & accessories for them. The acid reducers are for our one cat(though I think my hubby was trying them for a while too), along with most of the meds b/c she has inflammatory bowel disease which is chronic & flares up from time to time. She's not the one in the picture. They're sisters though. (unmarked arrow - oops).) Halloween rings...from 2 or 3 Halloweens ago. Again, it used to be a junk drawer. 3.) All the various syringes & such for meds, once I figure out what goes to what I'll be able to get rid of some of them. A few extra outlet covers & an empty pill box. 4.)Gel cake icing. There's no exp. date so I'm not sure what to do with them. Some are old & some aren't.

Then there was this stuff, too. It was all trashed or recycled. There were a few loose pills, ancient candies, coupons that expired in '08 [when we bought the house!!] or more recent years. o.O

And... AFTER! :D

Bucket List

I'm not sure what inspired me to do this now... other than I saw an article headline or something about one for a baby (?) and that got me thinking about it...
I was thinking I wanted to ask my mom what was on hers & see if I could help make something on it happen.
So, I thought... what would be on mine?

Travel to & all through Egypt.
See my children & (potential...hopefully) grandchildren grow up & be contented, productive members of society.
Complete my & my children's scrapbooks.
Get my house cleaned up & organized & maintain it that way.
Buy or build something closer to our dream house.
Copy family photos over to digital & put them in the family tree program.
Write a will.

That's what I can think of off the top of my head right now. What would be on yours?

Screen-free Week

Starting tomorrow we're going screen-free for a week. I got the inspiration from this article.
I plan to check my computer during nap times, but otherwise, no TV & no computer.
Hopefully we'll be more productive without the TV on!
